Happy Saturday morning. Yes, I know it has been a few days Between physical therapy appointments and infusion appointments and working, the days have just passed me by. And since I just described my days, —- you know you didn’t miss any exciting news any way.

My biggest accomplishment I think has been that I filled a lot of bird feeders yesterday with sunflower seed. They haven’t been filled in about seven weeks. The squirrels are celebrating this morning in the Backyard Buffet. It didn't take long for them to notice that the feeders were full. I was able to get up on my step ladder to fill some of the taller feeders although it sure wasn’t easy. This boot is really awkward even though the steps on it are wide. I certainly couldn’t do a “standard” ladder. But, it is wonderful to be able to sit out here again and watch the cardinals and finches and wrens and yes, even the squirrels come back to the buffet.

The bad news — the back yard John Deere is in bad shape. I’m not sure what I need to do to fix it. I bought a new fuel filter to put on it and we’ll see if that helps. But being able to get down and work on it is a task and a half. I may have to actually break out my self propelled push mower and try to use that. It hasn’t been run in two years so I don’t know it it will start either.

The good news: I can count the number of infusions I have left to do one one hand. I’m down to five more of them. Wednesday is my last one and the day they pull my PICC line out. Hopefully that is also about the time that my new leg brace will come in and I can start getting used to that and get out of the boot. And —- hopefully as of Wednesday I can start taking real showers again. I am so looking forward to that.

I have had a lot of swelling in the affected foot and ankle for months now but it is starting to subside. This morning the foot looked “almost normal” again.

Tomorrow is Sunday and we are having out worship out in the outdoor chapel. For once there is no chance of rain. Pastor Art has come down with a summer cold so I don't know if he will be making it to church or not. I can certainly handle the service by myself if not. But, at Art’s age, colds are not a good thing. They can turn not pneumonia in a heartbeat. I’m living proof of how quickly infection etc can spread and what devastating effect that can have on ya..

That’s it for today. Have a blessed weekend. Peace.
