Good morning. Friday is here and it is a hot one. Here inn Evansville we get heat advisories frequently during the summer but today we are in an excessive heat warning. It is currently 104 “feels like” out there.  I’m not going outside. There is little to no wind so it is. Straight “bake down” sun. I think this is supposed to break maybe tonight and be a little cooler tomorrow. We had a lot of days like this when we lived in Las Vegas, but we didn’t have humidity to add to the misery. There are so many places in the country that have been suffering through this for weeks now. I think it was Wednesday that some reporter said that it was the hottest day on earth ever recorded. No doubt that global warming is real and I certainly don’t know the answer. However, it seems as tough we are the only country that is trying to do anything about it and no matter what we do, unless the rest of the world joins in —- it isn’t going to help. So, today I’m staying in and will head down to my office and try to get some sermon writing done. 

I decided this morning that I would do a breakfast experiment. I like waffles; we had two bananas left and they were getting soft. So, I mushed them up and put them in my waffle batter. It turned out “okay”, and I ate two, Kate ate one. If I decided to do it again, I will only use one banana next time because they were more moist than I really wanted them to be. But hey —— I tried and you don’t learn unless you try. Once in a while I’ll get an idea about something that I think should work and will try it out. Most of the time it turns out edible. LOLOL

I stopped at Pet Foods yesterday to get a bag of black oil sunflower seed. I find it amazing that a year ago I was paying $20.00 for  forty pound bag of it and yesterday I had to pay $51.00 for the same thing. That is horrendous. I’m about to get priced out of my one hobby. I don’t mind paying for it to feed the birds but the dang squirrels will set there and eat until the feeder is empty. Too bad I don’t live farther out in the country. I would solve the squirrel problem really quickly. 

Time to head to the basement and do some actual work. Try to stay cool. Peace.
