Wow!, A bright and brilliant Thursday morning. Welcome Sunshine, it’s great to see you again.
We spent most of yesterday in a “waiting mode”. We had severe thunderstorms with the strong possibility od tornadoes predicted for our area. It rained on and off most of the day. Finally around 1600 the wind began to pick up but we never really had a “storm” per se. It did rain really hard with some wind and thunder for maybe ten minutes or so. I didn’t even hear it because I was downstairs but Ms. Kate said it was heavy. That was the “front” as it passed through but then it was just more rain and by 2200 it was all over for us. I haven’t heard of any injuries or even a lot of damage. The storm mainly passed to the south of us along the same track they have been passing and over the areas in Kentucky that have already been hit by terrible tornadoes. I pray those folks are all okay this morning. Julie tells me that the storm went a little south of her over in New Albany and hit Louisville with some damage and power outages. I think they have cancelled schools this morning.
We have a busy day today. We are already doing laundry this morning. Then we have to go to the grocery store. Easter is going to be here in a couple of days and we are out of too many things. Julie is bringing a pork loin to have for Easter lunch but we need to get a lot of stuff to go with it. And, — we have a bunch of other running around to do today too. Then this evening we have the Maundy Thursday worship service for the parish. We never got to the churches yesterday to run the bulletins so we will go early for that and then stay for the service. After that service is over, I need to set the church up for the next two services; a Sunrise service at St. Lucas and then normal Sunday worship service at each church.
We spent part of yesterday narrowing down our vacation plans and lining up reservations for hotels along the way. We are going to spend a couple of days in Vicksburg, MS driving around looking at some of the Civil War cemeteries and battlefield, and antebellum homes. We never been there so it will be something new to us. Eventually we will end up on the gulf coast for a few days and then back home. Everyone needs to stop and breathe in some ocean air once in a while and listen to the waves. I’m thinking thaat we will be far enough south that the azealias should be in full bloom in that area by now. It will be a good trip. We are trying to stay off of the interstates as we drive.
Time to make out my grocery list and swap the laundry over. Have yourself a wonderful day. This is Holy Week. Embrace it. Peace.
