Lazy Wednesday morning, sitting on the veranda with most of the family. Lisa had to take Amanda and Bryan to the airport first thing early this morning for their flight home. This afternoon Steph, Chris, Caden , Lauren & Jon are taking off for home, so we are losing a few each day. But the time together has been so wonderful and we know the next gathering will not happen until 2023, probably for Amanda & Bryan’s wedding. I hope those of you who live around your children take time to realize what a blessing that is. We talk every day on Facebook Messenger but that isn’t the same thing at all. So, if you read this and haven’t called your loved ones today, why don’t you stop and take a moment to do so right now. 

Last night was Heather and John’s turn to cook the main entree. He fixed lemon chicken breasts and thighs and they were soooo good. They were moist and juicy and tender enough to cut with a fork. Ms. Kate fixed German Potato Salad to go with them and Heather made a huge salad to eat with them too. After the meal and settled for a bit we had home made ice cream, It was phenomenal. Ms. Kate had mixed it up yesterday afternoon and put it in the refrigerator and then I then put it in the ice cream freezer, added the ice and the salt let it freeze. I have a White Mountain electric six quart freezer and it fed the 21 of us with just enough left over for me for a snack. 

Today, Julie is going to be fixing Fried Rice for lunch and them Spaetzal for part of the dinner. I love that each daughter is getting to fix a “family specialty”.
